Canelo KO’s The Krusher What’s Next? Saul Canelo Alvarez wins the WBO Light heavyweight Championship by knocking out Sergey Krusher Kovalev in the 11th round! Who will his next opponent be? It’s possible that he will unify with WBA Champion Dmitry Bivol. It is possible that Canelo will choose to fight at Super Middleweight. If that’s the case Bivol has expressed a willingness to fight at 168 in the past. If not Bivol fights can be made with Billy Joe Saunders or the winner of Callum Smith/John Ryder. Do not expect Canelo to face rival Gennady GGG Golovkin, WBC/IBF Light heavyweight Champion Artur Beterbiev or the top WBO Contender Gilberto Ramirez.
Gennady Golovkin vs Sergiy Derevyanchenko Preview! Gennady (GGG) Golovkin faces Sergiy (The Technician) Derevyanchenk on October 5, 2019, for the vacant IBF & IBO middleweight championships of the world. The fight will be broadcast by DAZN from Madison Square Garden in New York City. Golovkin is 39-1-1 with 35 stoppage wins Derevyanchenko is 13-1 with 10 stoppage wins. Don’t be fooled by the small amount of fights Derevyanchenko is the real deal. I would not be surprised to see the fight even after 8 rounds. Derevyanchenko could pull the upset, but I’m picking Golovkin to pull away in the later rounds and to become the IBF & IBO middleweight champion.
A Gift For GGG? Gennady Golovkin/Sergiy Derevyanchenko Review. Gennady Golovkin wins a close decision over Sergiy Derevyanchenko to become IBF and also IBO middleweight champion! GGG won a disputed unanimous decision by scores of 114-113 and 115-112 twice. Without the knockdown in the first round by Golovkin scores would have been 114-114 and 115-113 twice. Officially the knockdown did not affect the fight. However, plenty of observers fell that GGG got a gift and The Technician as Derevyanchenko is known should have been crowned champion. Personally, I thought it was a close fight that could have gone either way. Neither Golovkin or Derevyanchenko were able to take advantage of opportunities in the fight.
Sergiy Derevyanchenko Has Options After GGG Fight! I tend to make one What’s Next Video after a Fight, but I wanted to try making videos for both Sergiy Derevyanchenko and Gennady Golovkin! Please stay tuned to this channel for my GGG video! In this video, I am focused on Sergiy Derevyanchenko. Who, despite not getting the decision has created for himself more options than at any point in his career!
Is It Time For GGG To Move Up To Super Middleweight? Sometimes the simple explanation is the correct one. If you feel that Sergiy Derevyanchenko deserved the decision against Gennady Golovkin the simple explanation may just be that in October of 2019 Derevyanchenko is a better boxer than GGG.
Derevyanchenko is absolutely deserving of a rematch and Golovkin has options if he decides to stay at 160. Demetrius Andrade & Ryota Murata are makable fights. I don’t think Canelo Alvarez is going to be GGG’s next fight and he may have to move up to 168 to secure a third fight. At 168 there is the winner of Callum Smith/John Ryder, but I think a fight with Billy Joe Saunders might create more interest.

Middleweight champion Saul Canelo Alvarez and light heavyweight champion Sergey Krusher Kovalev have been looking into facing each other. With November 2, 2019, being the planned date for the fight. The would be for Kovalev’s light heavyweight championship. Nothing is official, but it is seeming more and more likely that the fight will happen. Because Canelo is moving up from middleweight skipping super middleweight. There is speculation that the fight will be contested at a catchweight. I realize that I’m just one fan with an opinion, but I fell that if a championship is on the line in a boxing match. It should be contested at the proper weight.
Unified middleweight champion and WBA super-middleweight champion Saul Canelo Alvarez has decided to forgo a September date that would have likely been used for a third fight with rival Gennady GGG Golovkin. While nothing is certain it is very possible that Canelo is eyeing a fight with WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Krusher Kovalev who would have to get past challenger Anthony Yarde in August. Mexican Independence Day is Septembe16th and that weekend is always a big one in boxing. DAZN who broadcasts Canelo’s fights has some options. They can match up GGG with either Demetrius Boo Boo Andrade for Andrade’s WBO middleweight championship. They can also match GGG with Unified super-middleweight champion Callum Mundo Smith. If they can’t match GGG up with either they can match Smith and Andrade. The other option DAZN has is to hold the Anthony AJ Joshua/Andy Destroyer Ruiz rematch that weekend.
Canelo Alvarez beats Rocky Fielding to win the WBA super middleweight championship. Who is next for the new 168-pound champion? Daniel Jacobs would be an easy fight to make. There is always a third bout with Gennady Golovkin. I think those are the two most likely options.

GGG vs.Vanes Martirosyan Opinion Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying & Be Ok With The Fight. Vanes Martirosyan is by no means an ideal matchup for Gennady Golovkin as a replacement for Saul (Canelo) Alvarez as an opponent on May 5th, 2018. However, in my opinion, considering the circumstances. There isn’t a clearly better option. This is all a result of Canelo either trying to get an advantage and getting caught in the act, or Canelo being completely irresponsible in his choices. Please Subscribe. My 2 cents (ok maybe more) 1. I scored the fight 8-4 for GGG. I think anything from that to 7-5 favoring Canelo is with in reason. 2. I think Canelo was strongest in the early rounds, and GGG came on in the latter rounds. 4. I had it 3-3 after 6 rounds, but it could have been 6-0 Canelo. I had the second half of the fight 5-1 GGG, but I think a round or two maybe, could have gone to Canelo. (I might have to revise my opinion of scores that I think are within reason to include 8-4 Canelo). 5. I think Canelo’s early movement and body attack keept GGG honest and prevented a body attack in the early rounds. 6. I thought once GGG found his range he started to hurt Canelo. Not enough to drop him, but as the fight progressed he was doing better than Canelo. I think an early round body attack would have set things up. (see thought 5.) 7. Even considering the knockdown. I think Daniel Jacobs did a better job against GGG than Canelo did. I felt that even considering the knockdown, Jacobs had a better argument for winning after 12 rounds than Canelo did. I think Jacobs gives both GGG and Canelo problems that GGG and Canelo don’t give each other, and is a 50/50 fight with either. 8. They are likely to rematch (May 2018). Both Canelo and GGG have too much pride not to. Even though I thought GGG won. I don’t know what changes Canelo should make. I thought he fought a smart fight. I think GGG has to step things up from the start. He has to use a body attack to slow the younger/faster Canelo down. 9. If the rematch is a reset, and the first round is the first round of the second fight. I’m expecting the action in the ring to be very much like the first fight. A close fight that could go either way. If it’s “round 13” . Than I think GGG has momentum and I think he wins with in 8 rounds. 10. I think that what we saw take place in the ring lived up to the hype, but the 118-110 scorecard leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I think Canelo/GGG is a 50/50 fight. That being said I’m picking GGG to win.
I think in the early going their styles will off set each other. GGG will look to apply pressure behind his battering ram jab. He will be held in check by Canelo’s counter punches which will also be held in check by GGG’s battering ram jab. Judges when in doubt tend to favor the busier boxer. Which in the early-mid rounds will be Canelo. He’s also the “A” side which will also give him an advantage in close rounds. I’m expecting that there are going to be a lot of close rounds that are going to be debated after the fight. GGG’s best argument to win close rounds is to be the aggressor. Like being busier, it’s about creating an illusion of control. I think because of this Canelo is likely to be a head through 3/4 of the fight.
Looking at GGG/Brook, GGG/Jacobs, Canelo/Mayweather and Canelo/Khan. Both GGG and Canelo can be out boxed. While I think both have excellent boxing skills. I don’t think either is as good as the opponents who gave each issues. Don’t expect a 12 round shoutout.
I think Canelo will be the boxer and GGG the pressure fighter. If this fight was fought at light middleweight down. Canelo would box his way to a clear decision. However, starting at middleweight. Size and power starts to make up for skill. I think GGG’s battering ram jab is going to find its target as the rounds progress. Which will open up more shots. I can say with confidence that GGG has one shot stopping power at midddelweight. I can say Canelo is a very good boxer, and has aculmitive punching power at middleweight, but I can’t say based on one fight above light middleweight. (The Cotto fight was at 155 that’s a light middleweight fight).
I think Canelo will land enough punches to win rounds, but not enough to hold GGG off as the fight progresses. I think in the 10th, 11th, or 12th round(s) . GGG is going to drop Canelo. I think if the fight goes to the cards. I think Canelo will be slightly ahead. I would not be surprised by any close decision either way Even a split decision or draw. However I think GGG stops Canelo late in what will be an enjoyable boxing match.
