Jeff Horn Beats Manny Pacquiao Controversial But Not A Robbery.
Jeff Horn beat Manny Pacquiao by unanimous decision . 117-113 & 155-113 (x2) to become the WBO welterweight champion. At Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
The result was controversial. However, we need to cool our jets about the result being a robbery. There are no clear cut rules on how to score a round in a boxing match like there is in other sports. Football for example. We know a touchdown is six points, and we know what a touchdown is. In boxing . judges score the round based on who they subjectively think did a better job. There are well known guidelines, but they’re not rules. While I think Pacquiao checked more of the boxes than Horn. He didn’t check all of the boxes.
